Sakura, Cherry Blossom Mon
The Shubukan Martial Arts Center Family Mon (crest) is a sakura (Cherry Blossom) and has a double meaning:
1. It is the national flower of Japan.
2. It is the Life Blood Spirit of the Samurai.
Please Note: The sakura was also the symbol of Kodokan Judo. There is a special reason I chose the sakura as the mon for the Shubukan Martial Arts Center (although with a different design), and that is because I'm a Samurai at heart! -- Doshu Ed Wilkes

The Daito Ryu Mon which appears on this website is used only to symbolize the lineage, heritage, and roots of various marital arts to that of Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, which Doshu Wilkes has studied under the direction of the Shuyokan Martial Arts Center in Costa Mesa, California.
